FOX has officially cancelled Utopia.
Less than a month after cutting Utopia‘s Tuesday episodes, the network has finished the job, axing the reality series with immediate effect without any closure for fans.
Repeats of MasterChef Junior’s sophomore season will take over the slot from Nov. 7.
While networks have given struggling shows more leeway this fall, due to poor ratings across the board and the rise of DVR, it seems FOX’s “patience” could only extend so long after continued low ratings.
Utopia becomes the fourth broadcast show this fall to succumb to the cancellation axe, following ABC’s Manhattan Love Story and ill-fated NBC duo Bad Judge and A To Z.
Utopia lasted 12 episodes.
RIP.
